3.75 inch backspacing update... 444-544

Hello friends--back in August I posted to announce, with some excitement, that somehow I had made a set of 6x15 wheels with 3.75" backspacing fit on my PV.

Well, I did.

But here's the thing: last weekend I finally replaced the tie rod ends and steering/track rods on the car for the first time ever since owning it. When I reassembled everything and discovered that the tie rod was 3" too long, I was intrigued.

Then, when I realized that the steering has been assembled backwards since I've owned the car (tie rod ends in steering rod holes and vice versa), I was surprised. (pulled a correct-length tie rod off a nearby Duett).

But when I found out that the steering rods now grind on my 6" wheels like crazy, I was just bummed.

Back to the drawing board on these wheels. Will probably shoot for a 5.5 up front so I can keep things looking the same, and keep the wide guys in back to help deliver all 93 HP to the pavement at once. OK, 91.

Thought you'd want to know! Nate
