I have a 1993 245 and one of the two hoses that go to the firewall has a hole in it. This is my daughter's car and I don't want her driving it without it being well maintained and we have owned Vs for years. I don't think she drove it far after the hose failure to cause a head gasket issue but only time will tell.
My question is do I have to remove the intake to replace both hoses. I had a 1994 945t and managed to replace the one that attaches under the intake without removing the intake. I'm an expert but can do such thins like clutch replacement, complete brake system and most other regular duties. I'm intimidated by this as the only intake I've done was on my 1970 Cougar to replace lifters. Is it possible to get these hose done without the intake removal? When I did the intake on my Cougar I was young fearless............now at 52 I'm paranoid of screwing up my daughter's as we talked her into. Please help!
