remove high temp cutout switch on AC compressor? 900 1993

Finally found a rebuilt Seiko-Seiki compressor to install, and noticed that they just put a piece of sheet metal over the indent for the high-temp cutout switch. The one off the old comp. is pretty beat up, and I've heard that these usually cause more trouble than they're worth. Should I just not transfer it to the new compressor? And if so, do i just solder the power line to the clutch directly to the green wire from the control unit?

Thanks for any feedback!
