First off, 1992 240 Sedan, roughly 175,000 miles. I say roughly 'cause she caught that pesky odometer problem. Anyway, this weekend is the big weekend for re-doing most all of the suspension components including...
Shocks/Struts
Strut Mounts
Tie-Rod Ends
Ball Joints
Front Bushings
Engine Mounts
I've got my impact wrench all rented, my MacPhearson Spring compressors set, a buddy who works at a shop to press the new bushings in, and my mechanically-advantaged Dad there for supervisory help/passive-aggressive comments. What I'm asking is if anyone that's done any of these things can offer any advice or words of wisdom? Anything would be greatly appreciated.
And finally, I saw a thread somewhere on someone who made some sort of home-made engine "lift" out of a couple of two-by-fours and some angle-irons that just took the weight off the mounts enough to change them out easily. For the life of me I can't find it--does anyone know where I can find it?
Thanks again fellas. I want to make sure I don't mess up Åsa too bad...
