Two months ago, I posted a message about my car cranking over but not starting. After getting a dozen suggestions and trying all of them with no success, I finally had it towed to the shop in town with a mechanic who knows 240's. After much testing and hunting, he has found that the cylinders are getting washed because there is higher voltage than usual to the injectors, causing them to stay open longer and spray too much fuel into the cylinders. This ruins compression and keeps the car from starting.
Has anyone else had this problem? What might be causing this to occur? The mechanic is considering either an ECM problem or a wiring harness issue. I drove the car one morning, and when I returned to drive it home 3 hours later, this was happening.
