Yesterday my automatic transmission started slipping when engaging drive after being parked. It shifts instantly into reverse, but it didn't engage into drive for several seconds. The previous owner swapped out transmissions for a rebuilt one in 2004, so I'm sure I'm going to be needing to replace the transmission soon. I was just wondering if there's anything I should do until a swap to try to get a little more life out of my brick.

The car shifts well when driving, it only seems to be slipping engaging drive when cold.
