Dear All,

I just got a 1996 940 (light pressure turbo). The car runs excellent except for some tapping noise in the valve train when warmed. My mechanic tried adjusting the shims. It seems to have disappeared 90%, but it is still there. He says adjusting it any further would cause the idle to be rough. Is there any way to make the sound disappear at all? Rebuild the head perhaps? All advise appreciated. Thanks.
