Wet alternator. Dry out first, or start up? 200

Hi all,

Prepping my 245 for a big desert trip and I was flushing my coolant when all of a sudden I soaked the alternator with about 3/4 gallon of water. Now I can check this boner off my "been there, done that" list.

Looking for opinions: should I start it right up and let the fan dry it out real fast? Should I wait an hour or two (it's about 90 degrees out right now), or should I wait overnight?

thanks,
jason
