need correct voltage regulator? 120-130

Hi all:

I am replacing the 30-amp generator from my 1967 Volvo. I am looking at replacing with a new 55-amp alternator.

My biggest question is...do I also need to replace the voltage regulator to handle the higher amperage?

Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks!
