ABS queston 200 1993

On a '93... I need to diagnose and repair a faulty condition and will use the Bentley guide for this ... but first a basic question. If I remove the fuse that is labelled for ABS and brake lights will I then have non ABS brakes? I pulled the fuse for a minute previously and it didn't seem to make a difference the brakes acted like badly functioning ABS.
Would'nt mind having non ABS like my '91.
