I am down on my knees with my AC begging for mercy in this 100+ Carolina heat.
I have the compressor hot wired with a switch that I can turn on and off. I used one of the r134 cans with pressure gauge on top to get the needle in the green zone. Actually felt very cool air coming through my vents when hot wiring it directly to the battery as a test. Now with the switch I get no cooled/dry air.
So I think I do not have enough r134 in there. Hook up the same can with pressure gauge and it shows no pressure. I squeeze the trigger and the pressure gauge pops off completely.
If I have too much pressure in there..which the top of the gauge popping off sure seems to indicate, is there any way to relieve that pressure or does it indicate the last death throes of another 240 AC?
I love this car and will keep it with or without AC. If I can get the AC working though I would feel alot better for the next couple of months. I cannot afford professional assistance for this car right now so if there is nothing I can do on my own I will let it go....with a heavy, and humid, heart.
Thanks,
Jim Lee
