Restoring 142S 140-160 1970

So, I pulled the #1 plug and took off the oil cap and felt air come out of the cylinder and saw that the valves were closed. I then pulled the dist cap and saw the position of the rotor. So, I set up the spark plug wires in counter-clockwise order 1,3,4,2. And then I turned it over. And it almost caught but after a while I had the choke on and the pedal to the floor and it almost fired up.
So, I guess my next move is to pull the twin strombergs and clean them up and try again. The car had sat for seven years and it was literally a rat's nest. They had settled in under the battery tray and eaten out most of the interior. The car has only seventy thousand miles. It also has four wheel discs and possibly an LSD. Now, it's in my garage getting prepped for autocross and canyon carving.
I can tell it's getting gas. But at least if I clean the carbs, I can eliminate that aspect. I've never pulled a set of carbs before! This ought to fun!
