overdrive gasket question 200 1985

I'm removing an OD from my transmission this week, but the place I bought the gasket from (ipd) is out of the ones for my car (although I'm sure their other kit has one too)..

so I was wondering, can I just make the gasket that goes between the OD and the transmission myself?

The gasket material I have much thicker than the gasket I bought earlier...does that matter? Do they make thinner gasket material (like paper thin)?
