My son is starting his first post-college job in Natick, MA in a few weeks. While he is a very capable young mechanical engineer, he has not taken it upon himself to become proficient in the automotive maintenance arts. (He is more interested in Punkin Chunkin than turning wrenches.) He has learned some while assisting me with his turbo and brake repair. But, by no means is he ready to take on the mystries of a sick Volvo on his own. Besides, he does not have all the toys (I mean tools) I have gathered while becoming Volvo fluent over the past 20+ years.
For those in the Natick, MA area; can you suggest any good/honest/competent/fairly priced independent Volvo shops? We know where the Volvo dealer is on Rt. 9 in Natick. For obvious reasons, we would like to avoid going there if possible. He is currently driving a '94 940T with about 212K miles. Car runs good, but we all know that with time and miles, more attention is often needed. And, he will be living 375 miles from me and my tools (toys). He is thinking of updating to a FWD or AWD car next year, so a shop equally comfortable with these more modern Volvos is a plus. Also, any shops he should avoid?
