AirLift bag mount in 240 -- remove pieces or drill or...? 200

While it has several times over the years been said here that AirLift bags have been used in 240s, now that I have the bags in hand, I feel as though I am about to be dangerous.

And AirLift tech help did not have specifics on the Volvo 240.

There is a nipple centered on the end of the bag. (The bags go inside the rear springs.)

It cannot go DOWN, since the lower spring retainer plate on the perch sits right there, with its fastener.

The nipple must go up.

Where another fastener is centered above.

Can anyone help, please?

1. Maybe I could drill a hole somewhere (in the substantial upper mounting cone?!), and fish the required tubing?
2. Or try to fish tubing by bending and then out of the upper coils of the spring, which seems unwise?
3. Or remove the upper end spring conical centering/retainer deal (dunno the word), which seems profound, but the AirLift generic installation suggests for some cars?

Thanks so much!

When I am done let me post back to try to document what will probably be obvious in retrospect. ;-)
