Quick question 93 940 Radiator Fan 900 1993

Ugh, summer is killing my Volvos. Need to install a radiator in the 960, and my 940 is overheating.

Questions:
Is there any relay in the circuitry for the radiator fan (93 940)? Or does the switch in the radiator control the fan directly? I am also assuming from reading the faqs, if my car has a radiator fan switch then there is no ecu control?
