I have a couple of 240's (1988's) but just acquired my first 1996 960. It is a luxo-mobile. My first question is one that I know many older Volvo's have dealt with which is the exterior handle on the drivers side not being connected to anything. It is there but it does not do anything. The inner door handle works so that I have to keep rolling the window down if I do not want to have to enter through the passenger side. I have seen something written up in the FAQ section but was wondering if there is any way to get a better idea of what the mechanics are before I remove the door panel. Are the door handle/opening parts specific to the 960 or are there other Volvo's that will fit?

I also wanted to get recommendations on workshop manuals for the 960. Is it the same Bentley as I use for my 240's?

Lastly, do you all actually go to a Volvo dealership to get the special Volvo blue coolant? I read something in the faq about pre 1996 960 blocks having a weak point for coolant leakage that requires a new engine. I am hoping this was taken care of in the 1996 model.
