Rough running, no start problem with 1989 245 200

My son's 89 245 is acting up and I can't find the answer. Engine cold it starts and runs fine for about 3-4 minutes then idles smooth but runs rough when engine speed increases to about 1500-2500 then runs fine at higher revs. Afetr about 5 minutes it just sputters then dies and won't start until it sits for about 1/2 hour then starts as above etc. etc.
This has a Bosch system, not Regina. It doesn't have the radio suppression relay.
I have changed main fuel pump with known good one and a new tank pump, gas and air filters, new plugs, cap and rotor, changed coil, amplifier and Air Mass Meter (used). I am thinking it now might be the Throttle Position Sensor. Do these symptoms seem like the TPS might be the problem. Code reader showed "poor connection at AMM" but that code was cleared and hasn't returned. Bypassing fuel pump relay makes no difference. I'm Stymied?
