Just found a handy fact I thought I'd share: switch on the emergency brake to activate the brake-on lamp in 240s (and probably other RWD models as well) will interchange with the courtesy lamp switch in the tailgate of a 245. Those switches are always failing on my wagons and 90% of the time they are also shot on parts cars---local dealers no longer stock them either.
The E-brake switches are pretty much always in good working order on parts cars. I now grab them and from there and keep one or two handy in the glove box of my 245 for the next time the tailgate switch goes south.
