'84 240. Just ran to nearby post office, and when returning, I'm getting *major* knock and ping. It's always had a little, but this is severe, and came on suddenly. Granted, I'm running low octane, and it's pretty hot out. But, those conditions have not changed in the past couple months.

Runs as well as it ever has otherwise. Temp reads normal.

Does an '84 have a knock sensor? Maybe distributor advace stuck/in need of lube?

other things I should look at?
