And the water pump left the building... 120-130

Hello there,

I brought the car to work yesterday and then went to see some friends afterwards and show off my newly acquired 64 122 in all its rusty glory.
As we were looking over it, I offered my good friend a ride and gave him the keys. He starts the car and starts to back out, then a puddle of coolant becomes visible and a trail that follows the now receding car. I asked him to stop and opened the hood – there I saw coolant gushing out of the bottom of the water pump. I refilled the radiator and filled up another container and drove home checking to make sure it was fine (only 5 miles and mostly downhill). Made it home and water is all over the place.
So, either something has cracked or the gasket failed. I couldn’t see very well since the fan, pulley and belt are in the way. However, it seems very close to the tube that comes out of the pump and runs along the side of the engine. I’ll check over the weekend, but I’d like to order parts now. Any ideas what else could be wrong or is it just the pump?

Thank you,
Marco
