1984 240 erratic start and sometimes stalls hot 200 1984

This is my second 240 and here is my problem. Sometimes it wont start, most often in the morning or after I have been driving it or will only start after multiple tries. I feel like it has trouble starting if I park it uphill as well but that might be coincidence. Sometimes tt also will try to stall out when stopping and accelerating. It will kind of lurch forward then want to die but I gently give it gas and it goes after a little struggle. It has stalled at low speeds and turning a few times. I have replaced the fuel pumps, relays (twice), spark plug wires and spark plugs. I do feel like it runs better after replacing the plug wires but that might just be me. I have checked the fuses thoroughly and have not seen any corrosion in or around them. I will probably replace them for good measure anyway. I did take it to a very experienced Volvo mechanic but off course it started every time without a hitch. Ignition coil? Vacuum leak??? Air mass meter?? Any or all of the problems at once? The gentleman I bought it from did not have this problem when he owned it but did have a little trouble starting it. His "trick" was to turn the ignition then quickly turn it off and turn it back on again. Any tips from veteran owners out there? Oh yeah, I live in a very humid area. Would that affect anything?
