Considering a swap to an M47. Do I need to consider the gear ratio of the rear end? 200

Hi all,

I've been researching a tranny swap to replace the ailing AW71 in my '90 wagon with an M47.

One article that I read (which I can no longer find) mentioned that, after the swap, the overall gearing was too low. They attributed this to the gear ration in the rear end.

Is this a consideration for all 240s?
