M47: synchro wire clip, slide key fell off shaft 200

So my M47 is a big leaking, noisy piece of poo. Got a fairly good looking one at the boneyard, get it home, remove bell housing, shaft slides out a bit, clip and key end up in the bottom of the casings..... great. Where do they go and what does it take to get them there?
