Overdrive locked out?? 200 1989

I finally get the car on the road again after replacing the rear main seal, pinion seal, and replacing the ujoints and center bearing.

Driving to work this morning, cruising along at about 70, the old girl shifted out of overdrive all by herself. I hit the lockout button a couple of times with no change. When I stopped at a light, I shut it off and restarted with no change either?

Can anyone tell me where to start? What am I looking for?
