No heat after heater control valve change 200 1993

Hi all, I changed the control valve this afternoon on our 240 Wagon. Before the new valve, we only had heat. I pulled the old one and blew through it. With the lever in any position, I could blow through it. With the new one, I could not blow through it when it was in the closed position. I installed the new valve, and now I have no heat in any position. I thought maybe the valve wasn't opening all the way, but even with the control cable disconnected, and the control valve pushed all the way open, there's still nothing like what we had just yesterday with the old valve all the way closed. The hoses on either side of the valve feel really hot, but the air coming out doesn't. Is it possible there's air in the line to the heater core? Is there a way to bleed it?
