I hope I don't do anything stupid here, but please bear with me as I am new to this forum and it is a weird one. I have a '61 544 with the B16, and I do not have the key. In the future I plan to have a key made for this ignition, but I do not have any money right now and do not want to damage anything on this car trying to hotwire it. I have a starter trigger hooked up to the starter and can turn the engine over that way but without spark because the key needs to be in the ignition to give power to the coil. I do not want to damage the metal shielded wire/cable-thing that goes from the ignition switch to the back of the coil. I've tried very hard to pick the ignition switch with a lock pick set. Anyway, how to I rig it up to have power to the coil without a key, without damaging anything, so that I can drive it around for a while until I can afford to have the key made?
Thanks!
