I'm having my 89 240DL painted.I have removed ALL the mouldings,emblems,handles,etc.I removed the window scrapers on the doors and I'm going to have the black tape removed.My question is does the small trim under the rear 1/4 windows come off and how? I would like to remove it so that the tape can be removed and painted all the way close to the window.Does it pop up and off like the window scrapers?Is it going to be bear to reinstall?
Next I want to paint the trim that goes on the bottom of the doors,fender.You know the 3 inch wide one that sometimes unsticks from the door.Although I removed it to paint the car I want to reinstall it but make it look fresher.What type of paint should I use or should I just ask the body shop.
And last I would like your thoughts on painting the mirrors and the front spoiler the same color as the car.The car is dark blue,I don't know the paint code color.
