Is there any way to tell if an engine has had it's timing belt replaced? Just wondering as I'm helping a friend maybe buy a '90 244 w/ 137k miles. She's seems like a nice smooth running car, but there are no maintenance records and current owner can't remember. How much does it normally cost to replace a belt?
