alt-regulator check 200 1989

well, without the engine running because of the fuel pump folly, i was unable to get around to the charging issue i now have.

didn't have this when i parked car for 2 months, came back and now the battery light, parking light and brake failure light are lit. on the meter the battery shows just 12 at idle and below 12 with lights, horn is anemic. obviously charging problem. when i take off the exciter wire the lights go out.

alternator has about 150k on it. can just the regulator be bad and how would i test that? belts are tight.

any leads/tips/ideas would be great. at least this doesn't involve damn nylon fuel line . grr.

at least it is still 65 and beautiful fall here in Anchorage. :)but, now i need car to get to work.

always somethin'
gary c.
