Help anyone! I own a sweet vintage 72 Volvo 164. I absolutely love it, but this model- and it appears other models- do not like hot weather. By that, I mean, I have a lot of starting problems when the day is hot and it has been running. Also, it sounds like it is oil-starved. It ticks a lot under acceleration, and though it runs in the cool range, it absolutely sounds like it may throw a rod. Ive heard that most Volvos 'tick' but the sound is scary to me. Any way to quiet it down, or ideally, to eliminate it?
