Hi Everyone,
I have a 1989 240 DL Sedan that had to have the windsheild replaced. The area under the gasket/trim is rusty and the installer said he couldn't replace the windshield until the area is cleaned and rust free. Fortunately its just surface rust.
It would be a better job if I could remove the interior trim around the windsheild. I've managed to remove the two pices that cover the pillars, but the trim piece at the interior top of the windsheild is so covered in sealant that I'm not able to determine how it fastens. In trying to remove the trim, I snapped a small section off.
Before I do more damage to the trim piece can anyone tell me how the piece fastens and an easy way to remove it? Please remember my piece is so covered with sealant goo that I can't see under the trim to determine where/how its fastened.
The two side pieces were fastened with a plastic plug that fit into the metal the fit into a corresponding grove in the plastic piece.
Thanks...
