Heater hose firewall direction 200

Some time ago I purchase an 87 240 in which the heater had been by-passed at the firewall. I've replaced the heater core and am ready to reconnect the hoses from the engine to the firewall, but I am not sure which hose connects to which connector. Am I correct that the water flows through the heater control valve last, out through the lower connector on the firewall, and then directly to the water pump?
