945 Horn Issues 900 1993

OK, replaced my rusted out horns with a pair of Hella's I had left over from another project. Wired 'em up and they worked great....for about 9 months. Last night while teaching daughter how to drive, she hit the horn button and I saw sparks/flashing under the button, same thing on the other side. Figuring they need to be cleaned up a bit. I read the FAQ but it's not clear, at least to me, can I gently pry the buttons off on my 93 with an air bag. Thought I read somewhere that it was no go with an airbag. Thanks for any help.
