1990 765 electrical gremlin: dies at random, sometimes complete electrical failure 700

Thanks in advance on this.

1990 765 T/I B230FT w/ 158K.

Problem: the car loses electrical power temporarily but comes right back, engine & drivetrain still in operation (at which time flooring the gas pedal SEEMS to resolve the issue at the time, but that action is mostly reflex), OR complete electrical failure either at rest or in motion, which usually comes back after a few moments, especially after opening the driver's door and closing it shut more forcefully than normal (I found this out when it happened on a steep hill in the middle of traffic).

I've been having this problem off and on since early summer. Typically it occurs when making hard left turns, but not all the time. It even does it when going in a straight line, and on smooth roads. Temperature, time of day, humidity, electrical load, fuel levels, etc. don't seem to be any particualar contributing factor. Initially I thought it was a loose alternator belt, which snapped (or one of the other v-belts did and took it out) before I could have it looked at by a mechanic with more experience than I. I had all the belts replaced, including the timing belt, and the problem went away for about 6 weeks. It's back again, same symptoms as before.

My first suspicions were either loose belt (exhibited by the hard left turns) or short circuting.
As noted above, the belts have been replaced.
I have not seen any exposed wiring in my extensive search on wires visible without removing panels.
The Radio Suppression Relay and several other electrical bits (not including wiring) have been replaced by a dealer more than a year ago.
The car had a new Interstate battery back in January, and tests OK, and it's a special battery made almost exclusively for our cars: it even includes the vent tube. (hard to find, but as mechanic with a great Interstate rep, it was made easier).
There's no other wierd electrical anything happening at any other time; the events happen at apparent random.
There are no codes in the onboard diagnostic system.
I've scoured the various owner boards, Haynes & Chilton manuals, and my full collection of factory green manuals, to no avail.

I don't have the time or money to drop the car off for more than a few hours as I work 2 jobs and both are not close to my house nor any of my shops of choice.
Thus, any direction that could be offered would be gratefully accepted.

Pray it's something cheap & available and quickly repairable, i.e. not a complete wiring harness.

On a different note, I've noticed the engine seems much noisier after the belts' replacement, esp. more metallic sounds which are somewhat intimidating. Could the timing have been harmed by setting it to factory specs? I'm running full OEM gear, no aftermarket stuff under the hood save for a K&N filter.
