The noise isnt noticable until after warm up. Can be heard with a load, but also reving in neutral. I was convinced it was loose bearings, but Now Im not sure, and Im wondering about the flywheel and torque converter. Is there anything else it could be?
The car has been driven by a lead footed woman, who needs to be first away from the stop light. This has been going on for about 150,000miles. Original engine, has 250,000 miles, and runs very strong, still.
Car was hit twice(though you cant tell unless you look close) on passenger side. So, if it is engine bearing noise the car could be enroute to swedish car heaven in the near future. Or...
I remembering putting a new crank in my 82 240(r.i.p), but I dont think Im up to that. A loose converter/flywheel, or anything short of bad engine bearings would give this swedish workhorse a reprieve.
Any suggestions, or observations are welcome.
Thanks
LS.
