frozen spark plug removal attempts result in a sound like a torque wrench clicking 900 1993

I am trying to remove a spark plug that is refusing to come out of it's hole. It's the first one I've tried and I'm guessing the others will be a bit reluctant also. I've been treating it to baths of pblaster and kroil for a few days. When applying force(40-50 lbs) to the ratchet there is a "click similar to that of a torque wrench when the torque value is reached. I thought it might be the ratchet so tried a breaker bar(no extra force) and the same noise is made. The plug does move the tineist bit...i think. I've tried tightening it a titch first. More force seems like a bad idea. The car is a turbo with 140,000 miles. I have all the service records and while it has had much maintenance, at Bortons mostly, though I find nowhere an indication the plugs have ever been changed. The car is running great, especially after I discovered the vacuum line to the boost gauge had been disconnected and left hanging under the dash...gauge works now too. :) So I'm thinking of trying the freeze spray but it is running so well I hate to break anything. Ideas will be greatly appreciated. And an explanation of this clicking noise coupled with the plug still not releasing will most appreciatively be recieved.
Thanks, Bill
