I have a '65 220 with what I believe is a stock (and tired) 1.8. It's burning a decent amount of oil, about 1 quart every 300 miles or so. I'm sure I can make it limp along for a while, but I want to start planning my next steps. I'd like a little more power, but nothing crazy.
What should I be looking for? Ideally, I'd start collecting parts and getting machine work done in the next few months and hopefully just drop in a the "new" motor at some point.
I've heard pros and cons about the B20 versus the B18. Also stuff about later heads, and compression ratios, etc...
What bits should I be looking for?
TIA
