My Grille is getting crowded between my 200,000 mile medallion, my USMC medallion and my wife's USAF medallion, My 100,000 mile medallion has got to go. I'm ready to give it up. I tremble at the thought, but I can do it - I need to do it. Whoever gets it must pass it on to another brickboard member when their Volvo either gets totaled or they go over 200,000 miles. The brass and enamel medallions aren't being made anymore, and I'd like to make sure we keep the remaining ones in circulation to serious Volvo enthusiasts here on the brickboard. All I ask is that when your odo...either actual or estimated (for those whose odos are ahem..not fixed yet). In about 5,000 miles, I'll be ready to give up the 200,000 mile medallion...so stay tuned. I haven't yet found a 300,000 mile medallion yet, but I think the British Volvo site has some lame looking metal medallion. If anyone has a tip on where one of the older (and much cooler looking) 300,000 mile medallions might be available, let me know.
I am kinda partial to my 100,000 mile medallion, and I don't want it to just go to someone who doesn't give a cr*p how their Volvo looks. If you're going to sport my medallion on your grille, I need to know that you'll take care of it. If you fit the profile below:
1. Your Volvo is a daily driver
2. Your Volvo is within 99,000 and 125,000 miles
3. You expect to maintain and drive your 200 series Volvo as far past 200,000 miles as you can.
4. You promise to NOT hoard the medallion after your odo hits 200,000 miles, but promise to pass it on to another BRICKBOARD member.
If this is you, post a short...well...reasonably short story about the moment you knew that your Volvo was for YOU...you don't need to get all sappy, but put SOME heart into it.
Well, what are you waiting for - chop...chop!
