1986 240 wagon. B230F engine.
I have grown weary of slipping the timing belt once a year or so despite regular tensioning. I suspect perhaps the square teeth on the crank and/or cam pulley are becoming rounded with age and wear. I could replace the pulleys with new ones....OR
Would the crank pulley, intermediate pulley, and cam pulley from a round tooth '93-95 B230 fit on this '86, and the round tooth belt function as required? The round tooth system is so much more reliable.
I could easily pull the round-tooth pulleys from a junker and swap'em.
Would she run?
Thanks for any input.
