control arm bushing tip from dumb-dumb--me 200 1989

IF what I say here doesn't come out right, forgive me and maybe someone else can express what Im trying to say better. Here goes:

My little “tip” for those of you who have not had the experience: Thinking of replacing those control arm bushings? 2 each side. After you get the control arms off and have the old bushings pressed off and the new ones pressed on and are ready to reassemble, get them all in place, start the bolts that hold them on, but do NOT tighten them while they are in the air. Lower the vehicle down all the way onto the tires, crawl under and then tighten it all up. Doing it that way will allow the bushings to “settle in” properly. I learned the hard way. That’s why we have good mechanics and ignorant ones --like moi.
