after using the "rope trick 200 1987

OK, so after I have ajusted the cam 90 degrees past TDC, insterted the rope and then taken the crank pully off won't I have to re position the timing belt so that the mark on the belt aligns with the one on the engine block behind the camshaft before I remove the belt and put the new one on? In other words Ill have to take out the rope from 1 cylandar and postion it at TDC again?
