hi, i hope someone can help. i have just bought my 3rd 240 and its the 1st to give me a problem.
the car is a 245 2.3 manual
i picked it up 2 days ago and it had a flat battery as it had not been used for 2 years so we jumped it and she started 1st time.
today ive replaced the battery as its dead again but when i came to start the car it will not turn over.
the lights are all on and the day running lights dim when the key is turned but its dead.
the car will start if you short out the starter with a screwdriver or bump start it but not off the key.
ive looked at the wiring diagram in the haynes and was wondering could it be the connector block (possible corrosion/dirt) that the wiring goes to from the switch on its way to the starter because if you put a test light on the connector that goes onto the solenoid it will not light when the key is turned or could it be the ignition switch itself.
if it is the connector where is this located so i can check it.
any help in this matter will be gratefully appreciated
cheers nick
