Solder Temp Comp Board? 200

I have another temperature gauge staying parked until I tap the instrument cluster a few times. Usually when I've had an unresponsive temperature gauge, I've pulled the temperature compensation board, cleaned the contacts and all was well - except the last time. On that 240 I've pulled that temperature compensation board so many times that I think I might wear out the terminals. Each time I pull the temp/comp board I clean the contacts and the gauge is fine for another six months. I'm good at doing it, but it got boring after about the third time.

Since every time I've had a hinky temperature gauge it has been caused by poor contact of the temp/comp board connectors, I am thinking of soldering the pins to their sockets. I realize that if I ever do have a temp/comp board truly queef out, I will have a self-created hardship to deal with, but I think it might be with the risk.

Does anyone have an opinion or another way to improve this frail connection?

Thanks,
Rich
