I could kick myself for this 200 1991

I changed the intank fuel pump on my son-in-law's '91 wagon on Sunday and I filled it up with gas and it only went up to 3/4 full on the gauge. I sort of had to struggle with reinstalling it into the opening and I think I bent the float's support arm down below its normal set position. Am I looking at replacing the entire sending unit or do you think I should pull it back out and bend the wire arm up a little. Thing is, I'm not sure how far to bend it back up. Bummer......
