A/C light blinking at startup on 960 900

Hi all,

I have a 1996 960 and very recently when I start out the "a/c off" button is blinking. It stops blinking after a few minutes, I have not timed it yet. It is kind of strange that this has happened since the temperature has plummeted (at least North Carolina plummeting). I am afraid it is going to be a while until I have to use the AC again. This summer, after acquiring the car, I had to replace the compressor with a rebuilt one but since then it has been working really well.
