84 240 Headlight switch problems 200 1984

Hello yet again.

While driving tonight, I flipped my headlights off to show my brother the flash-to-pass setup. When I turned them back on and they flickered and went out. I played with the switch and they came back on, but the switch seems flakey. Push on it and the headlights go out. Pull on it and the dash lights go out. Huh?

Do the light switches routinely wear out? I'm at 232K miles.

Also, it looks like someone's done the 4-hi modification on the car, unless that was stock for an 84 244DL.
