Power steering pump 200

My car can't seem to let a week go by without some problem coming up. This week it's the power steering pump. My '87 has been retrofitted with the one piece pump from a '92 that has the integral reservoir. The pump has about 125K on it and today it starting making some whining noise. I checked the fluid and it's topped up. The whine diminishes as you turn the wheel right or left. It's not really loud yet, but noticable above the noise of the engine when idling. The answer to my first question may be a bit of a guess: How much time do I have before I need to replace the pump? and Where would be the best place to get one? Remanufactured or new? Thanks!
