My '90 5-speed 245 has two interesting symptoms I have been unable to fully think through.
Sometimes, when the engine is cold and I am coming to a stop and I clutch it, the car will begin to cough out a little, and just before I come to a stop it will stall. Lately (December in New England) it has become more frequent (possibly a coincidence - its getting worse or just getting colder), but when the engine warms up to operating temp it seems to stop.
At other times, when the engine is not up to temp yet, when I clutch it the engine will rev up and down smoothly and repetitively.
Of course these issues never happen at the same time, but they do happen during the same warm up period (at least today they did), and I can't help but think that they two symptoms of the same problem.
I guess it must be something to do with a warm up mechanism in the injection system, but I'm certainly open to suggestions.
Any ideas?
Thanks.
