connecting iPod to SC-810/811 900

I thought I was being smart by getting an M-Bus adapter to RCA plugs and then to a 3.5mm plug but... the M-Bus adapter I bought (Scosche brand) does not fit. What is the connector on the back of the radio? The pins do not line up.

Bonus question: since "Amp" is not used, is it possible to hook up an external amp?
